The International Relations Office of the Hellenic Mediterranean University offers to all of its students (undergraduate & postgraduate) and its Erasmus Incoming students the module entitled ‘English for Academic Purposes (ER0005)’. Two ECTS credits has been assigned to this module. The responsible lecturer of this module is Dr. Gareth Owens (ogareth[at]hmu[dot]gr).

The topics of the module are listed below:

  • Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer clauses, and recognize implicit meaning.
  • Can express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
  • Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes.
  • Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors, and cohesive devices.
